The new water tower in the Dutch municipality of Tiel is located at Fabriekslaantje by the Echteldsedijk. The water tower was built in 1946. It is 35 meters high and has a water reservoir of 500 m³.
The old water tower at Echteldsedijk was built in 1890, according to a design by the Utrecht Water Supply Company. Water towers were primarily used to maintain pressure in the water supply system. The pumping station originally included several buildings; besides the water tower with extension, there was a house, a steam pumping station with a chimney to pump the seepage water to the reservoir in the tower, a filter installation building, and an office. During World War II, the old water tower was largely destroyed.
