The Nieuw Bussumerheide used to form a continuous band of heath with the Limitische Heide and the Vliegheide from the Naarder Eng to the Tafelberg and Blaricummerheide. The heath is located in a hillock area with a heath complex that includes smaller pieces of drifting sand and scattered storage of woodland, with deciduous and coniferous forests at the edges. The area is intersected by walking paths.
