Superb route following roads carved into the rock. There is a 3 km unpaved section between Villard-Notre-Dame and Villard-Raymond, but the road is passable by motorcycle. A picnic stop at Lake Poursoullet is recommended to enjoy the coolness of the place. The Pas de la Confession" between Villard-Reculas and Huez is airy and requires caution. The roadway is narrow and used by many cyclists.
