AzureParking: Old village Heldergem
A 'Frenchman' was the local name for a seasonal worker who, until the early 60s, campaigned annually to France. Seasonal workers from Heldergem were employed on farms in the Seine et Marne department. The Heldergem seasonal worker, with the typical 'bouzasje' over his shoulder, was immortalised in a brittle image.
