Around Cader Idris

Starting from Dolgellau this route takes us to the east of Cader Idris and then drops steeply down to the Dysynni valley and Tal-y-llyn. Our route takes us to Corris, stop here for the craft centre, and very near to the Centre for Alternative Technology. A detour could be made to visit Machynlleth but our route takes us on down the edge of the Dovey estuary to delightful Aberdovey, a fishing, golf and sailing centre. The road continues on to Tywyn - stop here for a trip on the Tal-y-llyn railway, and then on to Abergynolwyn. From here we enjoy the Dysynni valley with Castell y Bere and Bird Rock and then on past Fairbourne, turning off the main road up into the foothills of Cader to enjoy Cregennan lakes before descending back to Dolgellau.
