Welcome to beautiful South Limburg and especially to the municipality of Valkenburg aan de Geul. This route takes you through the beautiful area in and around Houthem and the Geul.

This region is also called Buitengoed Geul & Maas, a tourist collaboration of Valkenburg, Meerssen and Maastricht. Thanks to this collaboration, you can walk on beautifully renovated hiking trails. This area is well worth a visit.

The route is located just a stone's throw from Valkenburg. You will discover chateau Sint Gerlach and the Ronald McDonald Children's Valley building. The latter building was designed by Hundertwasser and has a fairytale appearance. To guarantee peace and quiet, we ask you not to enter the site yourself.

There are plenty of restaurants in the area for a nice cup of coffee.

The route can be followed via the yellow posts. You can park at one of the parking facilities in Houthem, for example at the castle.
