In South Limburg there are several signposted mountain bike trails with a total length of more than 500 kilometers. The routes are linked together by connectors, creating a network that ultimately covers the whole of South Limburg. It is therefore possible to discover the entire region by mountain bike. This network structure is unique in the Netherlands.

The Margraten route is a challenge for beginners and a good training for advanced students. There are some nice steep slopes in the route. In Margraten, however, there are also two routes especially for children. This route runs mainly north of Margraten and, in addition to Margraten, also visits the beautiful Bemelen and Scheulder. While cycling you will discover the beautiful Limburg landscape, with unique views and picturesque villages. A cozy brown pub, where you can enjoy a nice drink or bite to eat afterwards is never far away.

For reasons of clarity and safety, the routes are signposted to one direction: clockwise. The routes are situated in such a way that the mountain biker gets his money's worth, but that the most vulnerable surface, forests and nature reserves are spared. So a kind request not to deviate from the routes and never drive through vegetations.

The routes are laid out in such a way that as much as possible is driven on their own path. It is not possible to build a special path for mountain bikers at all points. In different places you therefore have to take other recreationists into account. Pay attention to the warning signs along the routes.
