AzureWho is Leon Segers?
Leon Segers is a fictional character, created to testify about the First World War in the region. He was born in Ploegsteert, on the border of Belgium and France. His parents grew tobacco and kept a café, but because of his curious nature, his vocation lay in journalism.
When the war broke out, he stayed in unoccupied Belgium from where he followed the war. His grandparents lived in Roeselare and underwent the occupation there. After the war, Leon heard their stories and anecdotes. Curious as he is, Leon sets off by bike through the city in search of the remnants of the war in the city and the stories behind it.
