The cycle path on a former railway track and along the Sauer River combines a dreamy vineyard landscape with picturesque places in the Luxembourg countryside. Interesting: About 200 meters of the bike tour between Metzdorf and Wintersdorf run "elevated" to protect the valuable wetland. Also impressive is the 336-meter journey through the naturally lit Ralinger Tunnel, worth experiencing the diverse nature, and worth seeing is the castle Bollendorf built in 1619 - once the summer residence of the former Abbey of Echternach. From Echternach, you can either return to Wasserbillig with the RegioRadler Sauertal or continue inland Luxembourg to Diekirch or to Ettelbruck to the train station. A change of sides during the bike tour - whether this side or the other side of the Sauer River - is possible almost anytime via the many bridges.
