Recent archaeological excavations in the field directly opposite the church have revealed unexpected findings that indicate Lemberge existed in prehistoric times, around 5000 years ago.

Not exactly a promising name for a piece of forest. Formerly better known as a large marshy dump of organic material. The walking paths are paved and easy to navigate. We also pass by the test fields of ILVO, the Institute for Agriculture and Fisheries. A moment to pause is the site of the air force base where the Zeppelins took off during the Great War.
Parking at the Sint-Aldegondiskerk, Burgemeester Maenhautstraat no. 18, and we cross the street to start on Aldegondisweg.
