Die Urbarialgemeinde Apetlon ist mit einer Gesamtfläche von etwa 1.300 ha eine der größeren Agrargemeinschaften Österreichs und die größte Agrargemeinschaft des Burgenlands. Der größte Teil der Grundfläche ist an den Nationalpark Neusiedler See-Sewinkel verpachtet, davon sind etwa 300 ha Wasser- bzw. Rohrfläche und weitere 700 ha Weidefläche auf die von Viehbauern um die 350 Rinder aufgetrieben werden. Die Urbarialgemeinde bewirtschaftet 250 ha ihrer Grundfläche selbst, unter anderem als Ackerfläche, Blühfläche, wertvolle Fläche-Rotfläche sowie 45 ha als Teichwirtschaft .
