Die Fonte del Casato befindet sich am Ende einer Treppe im Vicolo Fonte in Siena.
Aus künstlerischer Sicht ist der Fonte del Casato wahrscheinlich der besondere Brunnen in Siena, der in einem zentralen Bereich der Stadt, aber versteckt zwischen Häusern und Palästen, am Fuß einer langen Treppe errichtet wurde. Der Brunnen wurde auf Wunsch der Bewohner des Viertels gebaut und blieb immer verborgen, so sehr, dass ein florentinischer Beobachter während der Belagerung von 1555 den Brunnen nicht einmal auf seiner Liste der sienesischen Brunnen erwähnte.
