Dreiländer-Panoramaweg

The approx. 8 km long hike starts in the town center of Bad Karlshafen and has a lot to offer along the way. But watch out, two challenging sections await you. You should therefore be in good physical condition and sure-footed. The ascent up into the forest takes you over sandstone slabs, some of which are slippery depending on the weather. Shortly afterwards, you will reach the historic border triangle. This is where Hesse, Lower Saxony and North Rhine-Westphalia meet. The route then continues along the edge of the forest to Herstelle, where a detour to Herstelle Monastery is recommended. Take the small yaw rope ferry (passenger ferry; from May to September when the Weser is at the right level) to the other bank. From here, signposts indicate that you are on the way to the Weser Skywalk. A nature trail on the Hannoversche Klippen takes you to the viewing platform, the Weser Skywalk. A panoramic view over the Weser, Bad Karlshafen and parts of the Reinhardswald Nature Park await you here. Afterwards, take the steep cliff path down to the Weser and then along it back to Bad Karlshafen.
