Vulkanradweg

Like the regional railroad of the 1970s, the Vulkanradweg winds its way through the gentle low mountain range landscape of Vogelsberg and Wetterau.

In the largest enclosed volcanic region in Central Europe, there are magnificent views of glowing fields, colorful forests and blooming meadows as well as insights into village idylls and rural cultural assets. Numerous traces of the "fiery past" along the way delight visitors.

The volcano cycle path is the ideal route for cyclists. With a maximum incline or gradient of 3% on sections of the route, even leisurely cyclists and families with children will have a lot of fun on their tour.

If you run out of breath, simply hop on the Vulkan Express bus. Idyllic half-timbered villages, castles, palaces and museums along the way offer many exciting experiences.

In Hartmannhain, there is a connection to the Vogelsberger Südbahnradweg, which links the Vulkanrad with the Hessian long-distance cycle route R3.
