This area is both Fauna-Flora Area No. 121 "Innerste-Aue (mit Kanstein)" and European Bird Sanctuary V52 "Innerstetal from Langelsheim to Groß Düngen". A hike is recommended from the French Bridge between Hohenrode and Ringelheim to the Ringelheimer Mill: At the bridge on the right bank of the river to Ringelheim, there you should definitely take a detour through the historic park. Then return the same way. The route passes by all the structures that the Innerste has to offer.
