Tour of Reichshof

This tour is the most challenging route with a length of over 50 km that the climatic health resort has to offer. It leads almost once around the boundaries of the Reichshof holiday region and with over 1000 meters of altitude, it also presents an interesting challenge for road cyclists. The circular tour begins at the gas station in Wildbergerhütte. From there, it goes through charming natural landscapes and idyllic villages. After you have left Tillkausen behind, you will reach a fantastic viewpoint at the Blockhaus. On clear days, you have a panoramic view from here to the Siebengebirge, sometimes even to the Eifel (about 130 km away). Further along, you pass through the village of Hecke. Nearby, in Branscheid, there is a juniper reserve. Information about juniper can be obtained from the Reichshof tourist office. The route continues past Schmittseifen, Ersbach, Schönenbach, and Heikhausen. Upon reaching Löffelsterz, it is not far to your starting point. From here, you can see the nearby Wiehltalsperre. This is one of many drinking water reservoirs in the Bergisches Land. The Aggerverband collects precipitation in the Wiehl and Genkel reservoirs and prepares it for drinking water. You will then reach Sterzenbach. Your destination is now within reach.
