The castle and estate of Wendlinghausen with its unique architecture is one of the most magnificent buildings of the Weser Renaissance from the early 17th century. The hiking trail leads through the castle grounds with access to the castle park. Afterwards, it continues through fields and forests with beautiful views. An information point makes renewable energies tangible. Heat from the biogas plant, electricity from photovoltaics, and wind energy are explained in short films. On the grounds of the innovation center, you can learn about the variety trial "Energy from local wild plants" as a supplement to corn cultivation. Biogas can thus make a real contribution to greater biodiversity (bees, butterflies, other insects, and wild animals).
