TERRA.track Hünnefelder Tannen

Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree? In fact, in most Christmas living rooms you will find spruces. And in the German forest, only two percent of all trees are real firs. You can easily recognize them by the upright cones that almost never fall to the ground as a whole.

A rarely beautiful fir forest can be enjoyed with all senses on the heights of the Wiehengebirge near Bad Essen - especially the wonderfully spicy scent of the tall upright trees. The TERRA.track Hünnefelder Tannen starts at the water mill and the historic sheepfold, behind whose pretty half-timbered facade the Bad Essener art and museum circle is active. The track first leads through the spa park and then steadily higher, offering ever more beautiful views of the brine spa and its charming surroundings. The best view is provided by the short detour to the Sonnenbrink tower, which rises an additional 18 meters on almost 200 meters of altitude. The panorama along the Mittelland Canal is simply magnificent. Heading downwards, you will return through pristine forest on natural paths back to Bad Essen and its numerous good opportunities to enjoy a well-deserved refreshment.
