Tour du Pays de Dole à VTT

This long circuit around Dole leads the mountain biker to discover the heritage and beautiful landscapes. They can also be discovered in several shorter circuits.

The Tour du Pays de Dole starts from the Lahr footbridge in the direction of the Parc de la Sauline. Open to all, this park, suitable for leisure activities, hosts the Discovery Trail of Azans, a wildlife park, a bird observatory.

Next, head for La 2ème colonne. The Forêt de Chaux, one of the largest hardwood forests in France, has eight of them. It offers the opportunity to discover forest habitats and wetlands. One can observe birds and traces and prints left by animals.

Archelange is worth a stop. The village is famous for its Saint Marcoul fountain. It is reputed to be miraculous, but has a rare geological feature: the water disappears a few meters after the washhouse. Gredisans is located on the edge of the Serre forest. This one shelters several crosses pattées until the most remarkable, the Cross Boyon.

At the ruisseau des Vaux, one can see the base of a wall that marks the location of an old grain mill. Another remarkable place is the panorama of La Charme, a wide open view on the old basin of the Bresse sea, which allows to admire the first ranges of the Jura like the Mont Poupet.

Menotey, Jouhe, are then crossed before a return by the sanctuary of the Mount Roland, Foucherans then Choisey.
