The Korenbloem is a grain mill. The mill dates back to 1870 and was located in a place where no mill had stood before.
In the hamlet Op de Stad in Ospel, a mill was built in 1869 by Peter Gans from Nederweert: The Korenbloem. Notable are the protruding parts at the top of the body, which resemble buttresses. Until the closure of the mill in 1948, several millers worked there. In 1970, the mill was stripped of its sails. Two years later, the municipality of Nederweert provided emergency measures to prevent further deterioration. It wasn't until 1988 that plans were made to restore the mill.
