Endless heath.

On the border of Lieshout, Helmond, Nuenen, and Gerwen lies the Stiphoutse forests and ponds. In the area, there are about ten beautiful larger and smaller ponds. Walk along the Kamerven, Hoolven, Wasven, Kikkerven, Kromven, Witven, De Meer, and Tweetermansven. The Vennenroute is a varied route, with no straight endless paths.

The Kamerven is by far the largest of the little ponds in this area. This pond is surrounded by an open heathland of about 15 hectares, making it a large open space in the quietest part of the forest. Here is still a growing place for the Bellflower.
The other ponds are smaller and lie in the middle of the forest. Often they are somewhat dug up by the afforestation of the area. The numerous little ponds include Hoolven, Wasven, Kikkerven, Kromven, Witven, De Meer, and Tweetermansven.

In the footsteps of Van Gogh
During his stay in Nuenen, Vincent regularly ventured out into the surroundings, including the Stiphoutse forests and ponds. The Kamerven is by far the largest and a fine example of the landscape in which Vincent van Gogh worked. It is the only pond from that time that has remained authentic in the area.
