We stayed at the Parkhotel Valkenburg and took this adventurous walk in December 2024. The sightseeing map marks dozens of mines along this route. In practice, you can only see a few from the hiking path and have to leave the path to search for the mines.

Parking is also available at the "Geulpark" parking lot, which is about 300 meters from the starting point of this hike.

The first 600 meters go steeply uphill and are therefore the hardest part of the route!

Along the way, there are many benches, especially in the first part of the trail.

After 1.5 km, we come to a beautiful viewpoint of Schaloen Castle.

After 4.5 km, we walk past the Wilhelminatoren.

After 5.2 km, we go through the Landal Park. For this, we pass through a gate that, according to the VVV, is always open, as the path is also part of a local hiking trail.

In the last part of the hike, there are many dining options.
