You leave from the white town just over the Belgian-Dutch border for a fairly easy walk through the beautiful nature reserve Meggelveld, where you can roam freely and enjoy the untouched nature. Additionally, along the Thornerbeek, you will find a small but enchanting nature reserve that is definitely worth exploring.
