Park the car in the parking lot on Zandstraat in Opijnen. Drive along the traffic-calmed polder roads to the Lingebridge. Cross the beautiful little river and follow the Lingedijk to the west. Pass the centuries-old estate of Heerlijkheid Marienwaerdt and the lovely old village center of Beesd. The southern Lingedijk is beautiful as well. Then, go back into the polder and pass by the Polder mill and the duck pond of Waardenburg. Finally, let's take a look at the busiest river in Europe, the Waal.
A beautiful route in every season, but absolutely recommended when the fruit trees bloom around May 1st!
