This route leads a lot through agricultural land, but also goes through the Hooghalen forest area and over the rough field near Rolde. A route through forest, moor, and past small ponds.
You ride along Esmeer, a beautiful, large pond, and the Fochteloërveen. You pass Westervelde and go under Norg. The route continues along the Zeijer and Peesterveld, beautiful drainage areas, and leads back up through the Noordsche Veld, the largest heathland in Noord-Drenthe. You go right through the town of Vries, then head down towards Taarlo. The last section to Rolde passes by Balloërfeld, a heathland with a sheep barn.
