Este museo alberga decenas de obras de uno de los más destacados artistas expresionistas flamencos. La colección abarca el periodo de 1915 a 1943. De la época de Smets Deurlese se exhiben 34 obras, entre ellas El sol del pueblo de 1928. El Museo Gust De Smet es un legado de la viuda del pintor al municipio de Deurle. Es la casa y el taller del artista, donde vivió y trabajó de 1935 a 1943.
