El jardín, también llamado Villa Garibaldi, fue creado a partir de 1863 , en plena Piazza Marina.
El jardín tiene un perímetro cuadrangular, cuyos accesos corresponden a las vías principales, y está cerrado por una valla de hierro fundido .
De las muchas plantas exóticas que se encuentran en su interior, el ficus Magnoloides es sin duda la principal atracción .
Pertenece a la especie Ficus macrophylla, al igual que un ejemplar del jardín botánico de Palermo, del que es símbolo.
Hay esculturas en la villa, incluidas las de Giuseppe Garibaldi, Rosolino Pilo, Giovanni Corrao, Raffaele De Benedetto, Luigi Tukory y Nicola Bălcescu.
También hay un estanque con una fuente , alrededor del cual nadan peces y tortugas.
Si vas allí un domingo por la mañana , te toparás con el mercadillo semanal que se realiza en Piazza Marina y sus alrededores.
