Le lac de la base de loisirs d'Orcières-Merlette est un lac artificiel. Il se trouve dans un écrin naturel et montagneux typiquement alpin. Avec une vue sur le rocher d'Artouze et un peu plus en haut sur l'impressionnant Garabrut culminant à 2917 mètres, c'est un des plus beaux lacs artificiels de la vallée du Champsaur-Orcières-Merlette. Ce lac artificiel est directement alimenté par le Drac noir, affluent du Drac.
