Il parco della Cittadella è stato per molti anni il solo parco della città di Barcellona. Prende il suo nome dal fatto che fu costruito sugli antichi terreni della fortezza cittadina , a immagine e somiglianza dei giardini del Lussemburgo di Parigi.
Si trova nel distretto della Città Vecchia, nel triangolo compreso tra la Estació de França, l'Arco di Trionfo e la Villa Olímpica. Dispone di dieci accessi e ha un'estensione di 17,42 ettari, senza contare lo zoo di Barcellona.
