Aan de Grenadiersbrug gedenkt een zgn. Landmark de Slag der Grenadiers van november 1918. De landmark vormt een duo met de overkant in Eke, want op deze plaats slaagden Franse en Belgische Grenadiers er net voor de wapenstilstand van WO I in, om via een bruggenhoofd over de Schelde onder zware Duitse beschieting toch de overkant te bereiken.
