Vertrek aan de Sint-Godarduskerk van het dorpje Bekkerzeel voor een stevige tocht over kleine veldwegen door een behoorlijk heuvelachtig landschap. Je komt langs de Petrus Ascanuskapel uit 1891, gebouwd ter ere van Assenaar Pieter Van der Slachmolen die als broeder Franciscaan in 1572 in het Nederlandse Den Briel werd opgehangen door de Watergeuzen. De man werd in 1867 samen met 18 lotgenoten heilig verklaard. De naam Ascanus duikt her en der op in Asse.
