Newcastle is een industriestad in het noorden van Engeland. De stad steunde vroeger sterk op de lokale koolindustrie. De laatste decennia is de stad echter een ware metamorfose ondergaan. Deze wandeling neemt je mee langs de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden in de stad waaronder de vele musea, Northumberland street en de moderne kaaien van de Tyne. De wandelroute start en eindigt aan het treinstation van Newcastle.
