Slaget ved Suomussalmi var et slag kæmpet mellem finske og sovjetiske styrker i Vinterkrigen. Handlingen fandt sted fra den 30. november 1939 til den 8. januar 1940. Resultatet var en finsk sejr over overlegne styrker. Dette slag betragtes som den klareste, vigtigste og mest betydningsfulde finske sejr i den nordlige del af Finland. I Finland ses slaget i dag stadig som et symbol på hele Vinterkrigen.
