Aufgrund der Gesamtlänge von 32 km, kann der Wanderweg alternativ auf einer Nordroute (15,5 km) und einer Südroute (16,5 km) bewandert werden. Besonders sehens-/besuchenswert auf der Nordroute sind der Butterberg mit Aussichtsturm, der Tier- und Kulturpark sowie der Altmarkt von Bischofswerda. Auf beiden Routen bieten sich schöne Aussichten auf die umliegende Gegend.
