Die Cunerakirche von Rhenen ist eine spätgotische Hallenkirche. Der Turm ist eines der schönsten Beispiele der Spätgotik in den Niederlanden und wurde zwischen 1492 und 1531 erbaut. Bemerkenswert ist, dass diese Kirche so groß ist. Der Turm ist beeindruckende 82 m hoch. Dies liegt daran, dass Rhenen im Mittelalter ein wichtiges Wallfahrtsziel war, wo die Heilige Cunera verehrt wurde. Sie wird bei Leiden an Moor- und Halskrankheiten angebetet. Die Heilige Cunera wurde im 4. Jahrhundert von der (eifersüchtigen) Frau des Herrn Radboud von Rhenen erdrosselt. Im Museum Catharijneconvent in Utrecht ist bis heute das Erstickungstuch von Cunera zu sehen. Das Fest der Cunera wird am 12. Juni gefeiert.
