Along the Yser in Diksmuide, you will find the last piece of the Belgian front from WWI. The Dodengang is a trench system where Belgian troops held their ground against the enemy for four years. The position quickly acquired the name Dodengang due to the large number of casualties in these trenches. The site has been completely restored with concrete structures. The visitor center shows you the life and suffering of the frontline soldiers during World War I.

From April 1st to November 15th, open from 10 am to 6 pm. Entrance until 5:30 pm. From November 16th to March 31st, open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30 am to 4 pm. Entrance until 3:30 pm. Due to a military reorganization, these opening hours may change. Closed between December 25th and January 1st.
