Gottem is a village in the municipality of Deinze, in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The village is located on the river Leie, a few kilometers upstream before Deinze.
The village is purely agricultural and until the middle of the 20th century lived mainly from the flourishing flax cultivation along the Lys. The fact that it is still hidden along an old river arm today is mainly due to a dynamic action group - including Roger Raveel - if not everything would have been closed more than twenty years ago.
