This castle was built in 1717 to replace an older castle. During World War II, it was badly damaged by a V1 that had ended up in a meadow nearby. In 1947 it was rebuilt in its current form. It served as a residence for several noble families. The Vanden Bogaerde-de-Lens family, who moved into it around 1835, were the founders and donors of the chapel, the monastery and the school next to the castle. The family's coat of arms hangs above the portal of the chapel. It has been part of the protected heritage of Drongen since 10.07.1986.
