Enseigne - Dany Danino - Tournai

Dany Danino's unique interplay of images offers an original vision of the collections in the "Maison Tournaisienne".

This work was created in the context of 'intersections' and consists of porcelain and then painted in the artist's faithful color: cobalt blue , which recalls a facet of the rich heritage of the City of the Five Towers!

The motifs include some of the most emblematic symbols of the city (the belfry and the cathedral), but also elements from the Tournai museums (such as the severed heads from Louis Gallait's painting of the counts of Egmont and Hornes), but they are above all, an invitation to discover the objects on display at the Musée de Folklore et des Imaginaires ...

The urban work, created by ceramic artist Guy Woestyn, was awarded the 2019 prize by the Commission des Arts de Wallonie.

Intersections is a project supported by the city of Tournai and its Tourism & Culture association, the Tourist Office, the Claire et Michel Lemay Fund, the Eumetropolis, IDETA, Prométhéa, Eeckman, the Maison de la Culture, the Wallonia-Brussels Federation , the Walloon Region, the province of Hainaut, Culture.wapi, notélé and L'Avenir-Le Courrier de l'Escaut.
