The area between La Sauvenière airfield and the Domaine de Berinzenne was home to a large shooting range where, as early as 1907, 52 shooters could indulge their passion in a complex of huge Bremer-type steel targets.
The installations were suitable for firing weapons of war, but also revolvers, rifles, bows and even crossbows, at distances of 12, 30, 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 800 and 1000 meters .
From 1921 onwards, the Spa-Malchamps site gradually fell into disrepair , mainly due to a lack of maintenance. In 1927, the city of Spa tried in vain to get rid of the buildings by selling them to the state. In 1950, security problems made it increasingly difficult to organise shooting sessions. Finally, on 13 October 1961, the Minister of Defence definitively renounced the use of the Spa-Malchamps shooting range.
The building above ground has been demolished, bunkers/cellars remain as well as 2 shooting targets at 400 metres and 1 at 1000 metres (Cibles Bremer).
