In 1924, Glozel was put on the map as an archeological mystery due to the discovery by a local farmer Emile Fradin, at that time 17 years old. The story is that he found a cow stuck in a hole where thousands of archeological artefacts were found. Some believe it is fake, others believe it is a true discovery.
The fact that so many artefacts are found here is linked to a theory of a place of worship by archeologist Alice Gerard. A set of megaliths were found here called "Champ des Morts".
There is still a private museum in the village where you can go an look at the private collection and take part in teh debate of true or false.
