Larochette

The powerful fortress (eleventh century) in Larochette, on an outstanding rock, dominates the valley of the Ernz Blanche. However, there is something totally different going on in Larochette. It stands out when you drive past the cozy square, the Bleiche, or even better, stop for a moment and take off your helmet. The square has become a direct discussion forum. A scene you would expect in a southern country, but not here! The explanation can be found among the population: more than half of the residents of Larochette are of Portuguese or Cape Verdean origin.
