The Bruges scholar and inventor Simon Stevin conducted his famous fall experiments on the tower of Delft in the 16th century. Even in ancient Greece, Aristotle was convinced that heavier balls fall faster than lighter ones. Simon Stevin demonstrated with his experiments that this was not the case. He dropped two lead balls from a height of 10m, one of which weighed 10 times more than the other. They both reached the ground at the same time. This experiment would later be conducted by Galileo at the famous tower of Pisa. Galileo became famous for it. Few know that it was done earlier by Simon Stevin.
