Slenaken is a village in the municipality of Gulpen-Wittem in the south of Limburg, close to the border with Belgium. It is located in a valley through which the Gulp flows, with the Loorberg towards Epen on the north side and the border on the south side, and the Belgian town of Teuven.
In the summer months there are many tourists in the area, partly because the Mergelland route leads through Slenaken and the village is conveniently located for a nice bike ride.
