Classic cuisine with a Zeeland twist

In 2023, the entire concept of the restaurant has changed, as has the name. After more than ten years, the hotel restaurant is no longer called Rosaura, but Taste. The décor, menu, and terrace have all been updated. Chef Alex de Groene's cuisine is inspired by classic cooking with a modern and Zeeland twist. “We work with flavorful, fresh local and seasonal products. The menu features fish, meat, vegetarian and vegan dishes. We actively follow the seasons and enhance our classic dishes with local ingredients. For example, we source samphire and asparagus from local suppliers. Naturally, they only appear on the menu for a short period. But sea bass is a dish we always want on the menu. Sea bass swims right here in the North Sea and is definitely part of restaurant Taste.” The motivation to source locally and regionally is freshness and flavor. “Shorter transport distances result in fresher and tastier products. This also contributes to sustainability. It’s also a piece of social cohesion and support for the local economy. It strengthens regional identity. Buy, eat, and experience locally; that’s what we stand for!” In the kitchen of Taste Churchill, these fresh products are processed into flavorful creations.
