Le moulin a été construit en 1614 à Zaandam en tant que moulin à scie. En 1891, le moulin a été expédié à Beesel et reconstruit sur la petite Solberg. Lors de cette opération, le moulin a été réaménagé pour servir de moulin à grain. Jusqu'aux années 60, le moulin est resté en activité. En 1982-1983, le moulin a été restauré et déplacé sur la rive de la Meuse. Depuis, le moulin est en service sur une base volontaire. Au cours des dernières décennies, le moulin a été inondé quatre fois à la suite d'inondations de la Meuse. C'est pourquoi le moulin a été déplacé le 9 septembre 2014, à 60 mètres à l'intérieur des terres, à un endroit plus élevé.
