Ilsenburg ist eine an der Ilse gelegene Kleinstadt am Nordharz, zugehörig zum Landkreis Harz in Sachsen-Anhalt. Sie wurde 2002 als Luftkurort staatlich anerkannt.
Ilsenburg liegt zwischen Wernigerode im Osten und Bad Harzburg im Westen am Ausgang des Ilsetals an der Bahnstrecke Heudeber-Danstedt–Vienenburg. Die Stadt ist an drei Seiten von bewaldeten Bergen umgeben, die über 550 m hoch sind.
