The French military cemetery of Machelen-aan-de-Leie, is located in the Dorpsstraat. Through the entrance gate you can freely enter the cemetery. Here 750 fallen French soldiers are commemorated who died in the region of the Lys and the Scheldt during the Final Offensive of 1918.
Every year on the first Sunday of September there is also a Franco-Belgian commemoration here.
