The former castle De Pierpont, built in the first half of the 19th century, is located in the beautiful Olmenhof park. The park includes numerous exotic trees grafted onto native rootstocks. This old tree nursery is the basis of well-known families of tree growers in Herk-de-Stad. You may have seen the names Tips and Givers along the way? At the back of the park is a large monument in honour of Govaert Wendelen (1580-1667), priest and astronomer.
