Annapolis és la capital de l'Estat de Maryland, Estats Units, i la seu del Comtat d'Anne Arundel. És una ciutat amb una població de 35.838 habitants . La ciutat forma part de l'Àrea metropolitana de Baltimore-Washington.
Està situada a la vora del riu Severn a uns 3 km de l'entrada de la Badia de Chesapeake, 40 km al sud-est de Baltimore i aproximadament a la mateixa distància de Washington DC. A Annapolis s'hi troba l'Acadèmia Naval dels Estats Units.
